Dreaming of a white Christmas
Dec. 24th, 2016 10:51 amholyshitSNOW.
There's this smug feeling you get from snuggling into your house with something hot to drink, knowing the sheep are knee-deep in hay, the chickens have all the food they need, and you don't need to drive to town through snow for some shit or other. Sadly, I did not prepare well enough to enjoy this feeling today. LOL We need chicken and dog food.
My car is stuck at the head of the driveway on a patch of ice hiding beneath about four inches of wet snow (aka snot). We're going to celebrate Christmas with a traditional Push The Car Down The Hill To Tree Cover. There are disadvantages to living on the ass crack of a mountain. Totally worth it.
Going to head out for a walk soon-ish. I want to show Amy's grave site to Ash and watch the other dogs frolic in the snow. Loss is loss, but life has a way of moving on. It's a refrain that I suspect will become more and more familiar as I get older, ugh.
Think I'll leave her a sprig of holly.
